A bipartisan group of Congressmen sent a letter Wednesday to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission chairman and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission chairman, calling on the two agencies to take a “light-tough” in developing regulations for the cryptocurrency industry. The three Congressmen,  Tom Emmer (R-MN), Jared Polis (D-CO), and David Schweikert (R-CA), stated in the letter: “Any legislation or regulation should be simple, clear, and narrowly tailored to specific applications of the technology that raise policy concerns, thus allowing innovation in this space to be guided by consistent and predictable guard rails without imposing undue burdens.”  Read more here.
