Cybercriminals attacked Tesla’s Amazon Web Service’s cloud container, gaining entry to mine for cryptocurrencies, according to researchers at security firm RedLock. The software container was easy prey, given no password was set for the administrator console, according to RedLock. The hackers were also able to avoid detection for an undetermined amount of time by keeping their CPU usage low and using their own mining pool software, rather than one that was already well known.
