Japanese ecommerce retailer Rakuten is planning to offer its own cryptocurrency coin, a move that may drive more international sales and bring cache to its loyalty program, TechCrunch reports. The company’s rakuten Coin will be used with its existing 15-year-old Super Points customer loyalty program, which aims to drive sales. The coin will be used to aid customers’ purchases across Rakuten’s various services and markets, according to TechCrunch.
