The United Nations is exploring the use of blockchain technology in such areas as protecting democratic systems to natural resource conservation, reports Crypto Currency News. As part of this effort, the UN has partnered with cryptocurrency wallet startup Blockchain, which will work with volunteers from the World Economic Forum, UN Development Program, and the UN Refugee Agency, according to the report. This efforts follows a 2016 UN meeting in New York, in which the gathering of members discussed blockchain’s potential for addressing a number of sustainable development goals, the report notes.
