Bitcoin (BTC) tumbled to as low as $9,692.12 per coin on Wednesday after the Securities and Exchange Commission issued a statement saying some cryptocurrency exchanges and initial coin offerings (ICOs) need to register with the agency, CNBC reports. Meanwhile, ether (ETH) fell to $726.55 a coin, a level it touched in early February, and litecoin (LTC) dropped to $175.65 a coin, a level it has not seen since mid-February, according to coinmarketcap.com.
