Northern Trust gave a nod to audit firms seeking to use blockchain technology to carry out audits involving private-equity events. Under this enhancement, the firms can have their own blockchain node and tap into relevant fund data for real-time audits, Northern Trust announced. “This development gives the audit firms access to a ‘golden copy,’ or immutable master record, of the fund’s data from their own offices,” Northern Trust stated. “The audit firms can then either transfer the required data into internal applications to complete the audit process or develop new tools that allow them to complete the audit directly from the blockchain itself.” Read more here.
