U.K. Finance Minister Philip Hammond announced the creation of a cryptocurrency task force that aims to review the risks and benefits of virtual currencies, CNBC reports. The task force includes Britain’s central bank and the Financial Conduct Authority. The group is just one piece of the U.K. government’s financial technology strategy, which aims to establish industry standards and ease the path for fintech companies to partner with banks.
