Crypto exchange Binance is relocating its headquarters to the European nation of Malta, saying that country offers an encouraging environment for blockchain companies. “After reviewing a proposal bill, we are convinced that Malta will be the next hotbed for innovative blockchain companies, and a centre of the blockchain ecosystem in Europe,” Zhao Changpeng, the company’s CEO and founder said in a statement. “Binance is committed to lending our expertise to help shape a healthy regulatory framework as well as providing funds for other blockchain startups to grow the industry further in Malta.” The company plans to hire up to 200 people as part of its expansion.
