Reddit is no longer accepting bitcoin (BTC) payments for its premium membership program, CCN reports. A Reddit user recently noticed that he or she was not able to use bitcoin to pay for a gift subscription to the program, which is called Reddit Gold. The social media platform began accepting bitcoin payments for those subscriptions in early 2013, but now users can pay for the subscriptions only with PayPal or a credit card. Responding to an online discussion about the situation, a Reddit representative said a key factor behind the decision not to accept bitcoin payments anymore was that Coinbase is revamping its merchant platform.
