Bitmain unveiled what it calls the Antminer E3 mining machine in a tweet. The equipment relies on application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) and is designed to mine ether (ETH). According to an order page on Bitmain’s website, the Antminer E3 will begin shipping July 16 and costs $800. The order page also says the miner has a hash rate of 180 MH/s and power consumption of 800 watts. Some industry watchers have warned that ASIC-based ether mining equipment could eventually put smaller ether miners out of business. Read more here.
