The prime minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, unveiled the “UAE Blockchain Strategy 2021,” according to the government of Dubai. “Fifty percent of government transactions on the federal level will be conducted using blockchain technology by 2021,” Sheikh Mohammed predicted. “This technology will save time, effort and resources and enable individuals to conduct most of their transactions in a timely manner that suits their lifestyle and work.” He added that adopting blockchain will help reduce government documents by 389 million.
