Japanese consumer inquiries about cryptocurrency trading and initial coin offerings more than tripled last year over 2016, Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency said.

The CAA shared the data showing consumers’ surging interest in cryptocurrency at Japan’s Financial Services Agency’s (FSA) second cryptocurrency exchange study group meeting on Friday, CoinDesk reported Monday.

A majority of the 2,769 inquiries in 2017 focused on concerns about crypto trading platform security and the legitimacy of certain ICO projects, according to the CoinDesk report. Read more here.
