Facebook has appointed David Marcus, who has been running the company’s Messenger app, to head a new internal team that will explore blockchain technology, Recode reports.
The online publication initially cited multiple anonymous sources familiar with the matter, but Marcus later confirmed his new role at Facebook in a tweet.

Messenger’s head of product, Stan Chudnovsky, will take the management reins at the Messenger app. Read more here.
