Watch out, Donald Trump. John McAfee, the founder of the anti-virus software security firm and cryptocurrency enthusiast, announced via Twitter he will run for U.S. President in 2020 to “serve the crypto community.”
In his tweet, McAfee said that if asked he would run on the Libertarian Party ticket, but if not he’ll form his own political party. He says running will provide “the ultimate campaign platform” for cryptocurrencies.
This is not his first race for president, Cnet reports. He ran during the 2016 election cycle as a Libertarian Party candidate, though he lost the party’s nomination to former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson. Read more here.
