Lloyd Blankfein doesn’t own bitcoin (BTC) and has no intention of buying any. But that hasn’t stopped his company, Goldman Sachs, from trading bitcoin futures on behalf of institutional clients and hiring an experienced cryptocurrency trader.
Bitcoin does have a future, said the Goldman CEO during a talk at the Economic Club of New York on Wednesday.
“I’m not in this school of saying… because it’s uncomfortable with me, because it’s unfamiliar, this can’t happen. That’s too arrogant,” Blankfein said, taking a different stance from other CEOs, most notably JPMorgan Chase’s Jamie Dimon, according to CNBC. Read more here.
