Professor George Giaglis is joining the advisory board of INVioU, a platform that uses blockchain technology to manage the financial records and invoices of small- and medium-sized businesses.

Giaglis, who has a doctorate from Brunel University London, has been involved in blockchain since 2011. He is the scientific coordinator of the MSc in Digital Currency program at the University of Nicosia, which INVioU’s press release describes as the world’s first academic degree on blockchain.

Giaglis will advise INVioU, which he said “provides small businesses access to a decentralized invoice factoring marketplace, removing barriers to obtaining finance, neutralizing the risk of fraud and, as a result, reducing the overall cost of finance,” according to the press release.
