Despite all the hype, most U.S. investors won’t be buying bitcoin (BTC) anytime soon.

According to the second-quarter Wells Fargo/Gallup Investor and Retirement Optimism Index survey, just 2 percent of investors surveyed say they currently own bitcoin and less than 1 percent plan to buy it in the near future; 26 percent are “intrigued” by bitcoin but not enough to buy it now.

The poll surveyed U.S. adults with $10,000 or more invested in stocks, bonds or mutual funds, according to Gallup. Just 3 percent of those earning $90,000 or more report owning bitcoin, compared with less than 1 percent of lower-income investors. Read more here.
