When it comes to stopping the spread of infectious diseases, speed is everything. Now a U.S. congressional task force is looking at blockchain as a way to spread information faster than disease.

The Congressional Valley Fever Task Force, a bipartisan group, has introduced the FORWARD Act, which includes a blockchain pilot program to advance research and treatments around valley fever (aka coccidioidomycosis), a lung infection, and other endemic fungal diseases, CoinDesk reports.

The task force members see blockchain as a way of sharing information faster, helping doctors be better equipped to handle potential deadly situations involving infectious diseases. Read more here.
