The Zambian government is working with Medici Land Governance on a blockchain-based land title registry.

According to a press release from Medici’s parent, online retailer, the African nation’s Ministry of Land and Natural Resources hired Medici to use blockchain and other technology to create systems to collect and easily secure property ownership information.

The planned land registry “would allow individuals across all socioeconomic classes to build equity and leverage it to their benefit, as it has done in the West for generations,” said Patrick M. Byrne, CEO of and Medici’s chairman. “This agreement with the Zambian government is a tremendous leap toward a global economy that achieves trust through technology to the benefit of all people.” Read more here.
