Some big players are working on using blockchain for space exploration.
The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) are studying ways of using blockchain, perhaps to facilitate data-related processes or to help navigate deep space, according to Cointelegraph.
For instance, in 2017 NASA awarded a $330,000 grant to a researcher at the University of Akron who is working on an autonomous, blockchain-based spacecraft system. The ESA has published a paper on the pros and cons of using blockchain.
And then there are those smaller, independent companies that can move faster than government bureaucracies and are already working on blockchain-powered space operations, according to Cointelegraph. Read more here.
