Today’s crypto enthusiast would rather place a bet than own a digital kitty.
Blockchain-based gambling dapp Fomo3D attracted more than five times the number of users CryptoKitties had over a recent 24-hour period, Bloomberg reported. Players sent more than $40 million on the dapp since its first version launched in July, according to Bloomberg, citing Fomo3D’s lead designer.
CryptoKitties’ prices have fallen of late, but as of June it was still among the most popular gaming apps on Ethereum.
Of the top 10 distributed apps by money received, gambling as a category is only second to exchanges, according to DappRadar. Two gambling-related ICOs have raised nearly $1 billion, Bloomberg said. Read more here.
