Wyoming ranchers have discovered putting data on blockchain is a ton more efficient than using paper ledgers.
With blockchain, data including what the cattle eat, what type of vaccines they have received and whether they were ever sick are available for anyone to see, NPR reports.
But there is another advantage to using blockchain: Wyoming ranchers using it think they can brand their beef as superior and charge more for it. Consumers in the butcher section would be able to scan a code and see information, including what type of grass the cattle were fed and which ranch they came from. Read more here.
