Hu-manity.co wants you to own your data just like any other piece of property. To that end it has launched an Android app, with an Apple version to come, “designed to empower individuals to claim, control and manage their data,” according to its press release.

Hu.manity is working with IBM Blockchain to store user data securely, allowing those users to choose how, where and if their data can be used by companies for research or marketing. “So, just like a title for a car or home, people will now be able to have a title for their data,” the company said.

“This is one of those rare times in history where people can use an app to change the world without getting off the sofa,” adds founder and CEO Richie Etwaru.
