Listen up, cryptocurrency fans. According to its press release, the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team will hold its first Digital Bobblehead Night as part of its Sept. 21 game against the San Diego Padres.
Attendance is down at professional baseball games, which is why Major League Baseball recently signed a deal with gaming company Lucid Sight to launch digital collectibles on the Ethereum blockchain.
The first 40,000 fans arriving at the Dodgers game will be given a card with a unique code and directions to a website that will allow them to download a token of players Clayton Kershaw, Justin Turner or Kenley Jansen. Once on the site, a digital “bobblehead” can be unlocked and added to an Ethereum wallet. The team says an equal number of Kershaw, Turner and Jansen codes will be distributed at the stadium gates.
