An increasing number of successful cryptocurrency and blockchain companies in the U.S. are showing up on LinkedIn’s radar.
The social media site released its annual report of the top 50 U.S. startups last week, and three of the top 10 are familiar crypto names.
Coinbase, the cryptocurrency wallet and exchange, comes in third on the list. “The bitcoin (BTC) frenzy catapulted Coinbase…to spectacular growth. It now has more than 20 million accounts, about double the number of Charles Schwab,” according to the report.
No. 6 is stock-trading service Robinhood, which offers trading in a number of cryptocurrencies. Right behind it is Ripple, the blockchain-based banking platform that is so successful thanks to the value of its XRP currency it can afford to endow research grants. According to LinkedIn, Ripple has more than 100 customers, including some major banks, and plans to add more.
LinkedIn says it measures startups based on employment growth, engagement, job interest and attraction of top talent.
