The head of the Binance cryptocurrency exchange plans to set up fiat-to-cryptocurrency trading platforms on almost every continent.
Speaking at a Singapore conference sponsored by CoinDesk, founder and CEO Zhao Changpeng said he wants Binance to launch five to 10 fiat-to-crypto exchanges, ideally two per continent, by this time next year.
“Fiat is still where all the money is in. … And we’ve got to open that gate,” he was quoted saying. To make that happen, Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume, plans to continue working with smaller countries such as Malta, where the company recently moved its headquarters.
