Italy’s Juventus Football Club, the home of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, became the latest European soccer team to move into digital currency.

In this case, Juventus will work with, a company that works to get soccer clubs involved in using blockchain technology, to launch the “Juventus Official Fan Token.” It will be distributed via a “Fan Token Offering” as early as the first quarter of 2019, according to a joint press release.

The Fan Token will allow the Club’s approximately 340 million fans across the world to “engage through a mobile voting and polling platform, through which the Club will ballot its fans, allowing the supporters’ voice to be heard, and creating an emotional connection between the Club and its fans,” according to the release.

The token will only be available through, and will be tradable against the platform’s token, $CHZ
