Ripple formally unveiled a social impact program, Ripple for Good, to be focused on projects related to education and financial inclusion. “Formally” because it has been giving away tens of millions of dollars worth of its XRP digital currency in blockchain research grants to universities and funding for schools for some time now.

Ripple for Good will collaborate with RippleWorks, a nonprofit co-founded by Ripple founders Chris Larsen and Doug Galen that supports social ventures across multiple sectors. So far Ripple says it has donated more than $80 million in its philanthropic efforts and now plans to donate $25 million more. Read more here.
