The European Securities and Markets Authority, the European Union’s financial regulator, has set aside 1.1 million euros in its 2019 budget for overseeing cryptocurrencies and other financial activities.

ESMA said in its budget it is taking a “particular focus” on crypto assets, among other financial products, that will include actively looking for issues and risks connected to them.

To do this the ESMA has budgeted 1,107,360 euros and six full-time staff members, CoinDesk reported. Read more here.
