Let’s get ready to rumble!
The U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs has scheduled a full committee hearing for 10 a.m. ET on Oct. 11 with the rather bland title of “Exploring the Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Ecosystem.”
Coin Center, based in Washington, DC, is a non-profit focused on policy issues affecting cryptocurrencies. Its mission is to “build a better understanding of these technologies and to promote a regulatory climate that preserves the freedom to innovate using permissionless blockchain technologies,” according to its website.
Roubini, meanwhile, is professor of economics and international business at New York University’s Stern School of Business and a notorious bear on the economy, hence the nickname. He’s also not crazy about bitcoin (BTC), to put it mildly.
Hope the committee remembers the popcorn.
