Ripple’s revenue from the sale of its XRP currency more than doubled in the third quarter compared to the second quarter.

In its Q3 2018 XRP Markets Report released Thursday, Ripple said it sold $163.33 million of XRP, up from $75.53 million in the second quarter. This is still less than the sales of $167.7 million reported in the first quarter.

Most of the increase came from institutional direct sales, where Ripple subsidiary XRP II sold $98.06 million, compared with only $16.87 the quarter before. There was a smaller increase in programmatic sales, to $65.27 million in the third quarter from $56.66 million in the second.
