The Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange is going where few employers have gone to retain talent: fertility.

CoinDesk reported that since March 2018, the exchange, in addition to its usual health coverage, has offered to cover up to $5,000 a year for fertility treatments such as egg freezing through the fertility benefits startup Carrot. Egg freezing helps women conceive children later in life.

Nat McGrath, Coinbase’s VP of people, told CoinDesk, “With possibilities for egg freezing, [in vitro fertilization], fertility preservation, surrogacy and more, our fertility benefits can serve a wide range of use cases for our diverse group of employees.” He would not say how many employees are using the coverage.

Meanwhile, a Carrot spokeswoman told CoinDesk other cryptocurrency firms are interested in working with it to offer the same benefit. Read more here.
